Welcome to the Indy Tennis Blog
A short note on what this blog is, who writes it, and how to use it to actually get better at tennis.
Welcome to the Indy Tennis Blog
This is where I write about the things I coach on court every day — the forehand grip that made a 3.5 finally hit a heavy ball, the second-serve toss that stopped a junior from double-faulting away sets, the between-point routine that turned a choker into a closer.
What you will find here
Real coaching, not content marketing. Every article comes out of a lesson I have already given a hundred times. If a drill or fix is in here, it is because it has worked on a real player, in a real match, in Indianapolis.
The categories are the way I think about the game:
- Technique, forehand, backhand, serve, volley, footwork — how the strokes work.
- Mental game, match strategy, singles, doubles — how points are won.
- Junior development, adult improvement — how players actually get better at each stage.
- Equipment, injury prevention, tennis fitness — the off-court decisions that shape on-court play.
How to use the blog
If you have a specific problem — say, your second serve keeps landing short — search for it directly. If you are trying to improve overall, pick a category, read four or five articles in it, and then get on a court and try one specific idea.
Reading tennis articles does not make you a better tennis player. Practicing what you read does.
